We are going to change the music we use for Holy Communion on a temporary basis.
The replacement setting is one we used some years ago but we switched to the Mass of St. Thomas when we switched from the ASB to Common Worship. Those who have been attending St. Johns since the time of David Reindorp should remember the music.
The service is one that was written originally in 1973 and is the Addington Service by Richard Shephard. It is very popular and, arguably, is one of the most straightforward settings in use in the church today.
We don’t intend to change permanently, but the feeling is that perhaps we should have a change.
Here is the Gloria
Here are the Sanctus and Benedictus
and finally here is the Agnus Dei
The quality of the recording is not very good, but shoud be enough to give an idea of the music.
